Lignano Sabbiadoro is a perfect venue for 3x3 basketball, thanks to the organization of high-level events in unique settings such as Piazza Marcello d’Olivo. The destination has hosted national youth competitions and international FIBA tournaments, with seaside courts that combine sport and tourism. Exciting, urban, and innovative, 3x3 basketball is inspired by various forms of streetball played around the world and is considered the number one urban team sport. Governed by FIBA, it is played between two teams on a court the size of half a traditional basketball court. First successfully introduced at international level at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games, 3x3 is now a key feature of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour and the FIBA 3x3 World Cup, with events hosted each year in different cities.
