Skateboarding
Skateboarding is an Olympic sport that involves moving and performing tricks on a wheeled board. It originated in the 1950s in California (USA), when surfers, in the absence of waves, began using boards fitted with wheels. It later evolved into a structured discipline. In the 1960s, the modern design was developed with the introduction of the kicktail, a key element for performing tricks. Added to the Olympic program at Tokyo 2020, skateboarding at the EYOF represents a modern and spectacular sport where technique, creativity, and control stand out. The EYOF 2027 competitions will take place in Lignano Sabbiadoro, at the Skatepark.
