Triathlon
Triathlon is a multisport discipline that combines swimming, cycling, and running in a single race, where the winner is the first to cross the finish line. It originated in the 1970s in the United States as an alternative form of training and quickly spread worldwide. The rules are simple: athletes complete the three segments in sequence over set distances. Triathlon has been an Olympic sport since 2000 and now also includes the mixed relay. A dynamic and demanding sport, it requires endurance, strategy, and excellent effort management. At EYOF 2027, competitions will be held over the sprint distance.
